Corten weathering steel starts grey and develops orange and brown rust tones outdoors. Colour and timing vary with exposure. Allow it to drain and keep rusty runoff away from pale paving, walls and other surfaces that could stain.

Choose sound timber and a clear backdrop. Hold the mounting spike securely at a slight downward angle and gently tap its thick end into the timber with a hammer or mallet. Dense hardwood may need a pilot hole. Follow the supplied instructions, wear gloves and eye protection, and avoid striking the bird’s fine detail.
