RCD - Mother's Day

Introducing… a limited edition bird as part of our RCD collaboration, designed in support of the Robert Connor Dawes (RCD) Foundation, who are an Australian charity that fund paediatric brain cancer research. The RCD Foundation was created in Connor’s honour, who was just 18 when he lost his 16-month battle with brain cancer. Connor’s favourite song was ‘Three Little Birds’ by Bob Marley, so our original design features three little birds sitting on a branch. We came to collaborate with the RCD Foundation after one of our Metalbird team members, Harry, introduced us to them. Harry's story is quite remarkable. At just 16-years-old he endured the fight of his life and ever since, has dedicated himself to supporting the RCD Foundation and other young patients facing the same cruel diagnosis. Our latest Australian made design for Mother’s Day, is to honour Connor’s mother, Liz, who works tirelessly to raise money for families and change the odds for children facing brain cancer, which kills more children than any other disease. Here at Metalbird, we think Liz is a super hero for everything that she does.  This RCD bird is dedicated to her. 50% of all proceeds from each sale of the RCD – Mother’s Day and the RCD ‘Three Little Birds’ will be donated directly to the RCD Foundation, supporting Liz’s incredible work.
