Corten weathering steel develops a natural rust-coloured patina outdoors. Rain, drying and exposure affect the colour and pace of change. Allow for rusty runoff, which can mark pale paving, walls, pots and indoor surfaces.

Choose suitable sound timber and a clear backdrop. Hold the mounting spike at a slight downward angle and gently tap its thick end into the timber with a hammer or mallet. Avoid striking the bird or fine cut detail. Dense hardwood may need a pilot hole. Follow the supplied instructions and wear gloves and eye protection.
