Where can I put it?
Choose suitable sound timber on a sturdy post, rail or wooden planter, with permission to install. Position the integrated mounting spike at a slight downward angle. Gently tap the thick end of the spike with a hammer or mallet until secure, never the bird itself. Check it is stable before letting go. Keep the sharp point and edges clear of children and walkways. Hammer not included. This timber-mounted design is not a loose-soil plant stake.
Will it rust or stain nearby surfaces?
Made from unpainted 3 mm Corten weathering steel. Outdoors, the surface develops a rust-coloured patina. The colour and pace of change depend on exposure, rain and drying. Leave it unpainted and choose a spot where rust run-off will not stain pale paving, walls, pots or other surfaces. For an exposed coastal position, ask us for advice before choosing a spot.

When will it arrive and what does shipping cost?
Orders ship from Melbourne with Australia Post. We aim for same-day dispatch on orders placed before 12 noon AEST, Monday to Friday. Estimated delivery after dispatch: metro VIC, NSW, SA and QLD 1–3 business days; regional areas, WA and TAS 3–6; NT 5–8. Weather and peak periods may cause delays. Standard shipping is $14.99 AUD, or $19.99 for NT. Free standard shipping applies to orders over $150 AUD, excluding NT. Confirm rates at checkout.
Can I return it after installing it?
Request a return or exchange within 30 days of delivery by emailing info@metalbird.com.au with your order number. Birds must be unused, uninstalled and in original condition, without patina or marks. You cover return postage unless we made a mistake. Refunds follow inspection to the original payment method; original postage is not refunded unless we made a mistake. For exchanges, we cover replacement postage and any price difference applies.
