Description

Three of Australia’s most iconic birds. In one seriously adorable bundle.

The Baby Bird Bundle brings together three of our best-selling minis — the Kookaburra, Magpie, and Superb Fairywren (Blue Wren) — in a gift set that punches well above its weight in meaning and charm. Each bird arrives in its own individual envelope, ready to surprise someone special (or three someones, if you feel like sharing).

These mini silhouettes are small in size, big on impact, and the perfect way to tuck a little beauty into a garden, fence post, or pot plant. Whether it’s a sweet Christmas surprise, a thoughtful thank you, or a just-because gift, the Baby Bird Bundle has a knack for making people smile.

Made from 3mm Corten® steel and produced locally in Australia, they’re built to last and weather beautifully over time — like the best kind of friendship.

Want to become part of the Metalbird Global Art Project? Just grab a hammer, tap them in, and make someone’s day.

Small birds. Big impact. Here’s how to plant the magic.

1. Pick a spot where they’ll pop — think fence posts, planters, or even mailboxes.
2. Hold your mini bird at a slight downward angle to mimic a natural perch.
3. Gently tap the thick end of the stake into wood using a hammer or mallet.
4. Keep going until it’s snug and secure — no wobble, no worries.
5. Repeat or gift — they’re adorable solo or as a little flock.

Top Tip: For especially hard timber, a small pilot hole can make installation smoother than a kookaburra’s laugh.

Are the mini birds weatherproof?
Absolutely. Each one is made from 3mm Corten® steel — they’re designed to handle Aussie conditions and develop a beautiful weathered patina over time.

Can I split the bundle into separate gifts?
You sure can. Each bird comes in its own individual envelope — perfect for Christmas stockings, gift tags, or just popping into someone’s letterbox.

What’s the best place to install them?
Mini birds shine on fence posts, potted plants, deck rails, or tucked along garden paths. Just find a perch with a nice silhouette view.

Are they safe for kids’ gardens?
Yes, as long as an adult does the install. They're a great way to spark curiosity and connection with nature in younger bird lovers.

Why is the Blue Wren so brilliantly blue?
The male Superb Fairywren puts on his electric blue feathers during breeding season to catch a mate — or just show off to the neighbourhood. Outside the season, he tones it right down. Bit of a seasonal show pony.

Each Metalbird is crafted from Corten® Steel, a premium, weathering steel made to last.

When it meets the elements, it doesn’t rust like your old BBQ. It transforms.

That change you’re seeing? That’s patina. A tough, protective outer layer that seals the steel, adds character, and preserves your bird for decades.

This isn’t paint. It’s nature’s way of ageing gracefully.

The Patina Process:

At first, you’ll notice bright orange spots (we call this the teenage phase). Soon enough, the whole bird will turn a bold orange, slowly shifting into deep burnt umber. Eventually, it settles into a moody charcoal that feels like it’s always belonged.

The Result? A piece of industrial art with a heartbeat. No peeling, no fading, just a bird that gets better with age.
